10/23/2024 Paul passed at 76 years old with his wife and son at his side.Paul had a dissection from his heart valve to the split in his groin. Two surgeries in 2005 and 2006 gave him 20 more years. However, the repair was ultimately incomplete around his carotids and he eventually developed vascular dementia and aortic insufficiency. This was known but doctors were hesitant to open him /operate a 3rd time. Roughly 13 years of his life after the repairs was normal. He loved his family, animals, fishing, the packers and custom knives. We were extremely lucky to have the time we did with him.We hope that donations in his name can help the next person survive and have as much or more quality time than he did.Thank you!
