Walk for Aortic Health/Bake Sale

Matthew and I found this foundation in 2021. We were so excited to find this, we had wished we knew about it in 2020 when Matthew had two dissections A and B in a matter of two and a half months. This all happened during Covid, and our whole world was flipped upside down. Before this happened, Matthew was very athletic he was a runner that has competed in many Marathons and half Marathons. He loved cycling, and his greatest joy was riding in the National 24-Hour Challenge on Father's Day weekend with his dad, cousin and friends. After the dissections Matthew was told that he would no longer be able to compete in running or cycling competitively. This is due to the dissection B not being healed, Matthew's heart rate and blood pressure need to stay low. Since finding this foundation we have read so much about the why. And let me tell we are so happy to be part of it. Our Why, is to help raise awareness to others, that may have had or could possibly have a dissection that is misdiagnosed. It is our hope that we will get a local chapter opened in the Lansing area. This will help bring advocacy and support to those that have gone through this dramatic life change. We would love to raise $1500.00 this year.
