2024 TCS NYC Marathon-Team Ritter
Why do I support The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health?
Meredith and I met in 2003 at Texas Tech University. We have made incredible memories over 20 years- singing karaoke, dancing all night, and she was my +1 to 2 weddings in a day!
In 2018, Meredith was 37 1/2 weeks pregnant... and had an aortic dissection. 50% of people who have a dissection do not make it to the hospital. She was lucky. Her son, Geoffrey, was lucky. After being care flighted to Texas Health Resources Dallas, she had a c-section and Open Heart Surgery on the same table.
I was able to see Meredith and meet Geoffrey just a few short weeks after her surgery when I was in town for the holiday.
Meredith joined The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, and was trying to figure out how she can support Team Ritter, however, her aortic surgery limits her ability to do so. I am Meredith’s “legs”. This is my 4th NYC Marathon with Team Ritter and 2nd year as a Captain! So excited for this year’s race! Please consider making a donation or sharing with community as we raise awareness for thoracic aortic disease through research, education, and advocacy.
